Vehicle Test

Vehicle Test

Vehicle Test is an inspection fee which is the tax paid to the government before any vehicle can be tested in any of the State Test Centers to verify if they are still road-worthy.

It is a receipt authorizing the VIO official to test the vehicle and then either certify it road worthy or not as the case may be.

This test is compulsory for all commercial vehicles and the vehicle test must be done bi-annually. For private cars however, it is optional as only those that are older than 5 years need to obtain Road Worthiness certificates and thus have to also go through the vehicle test, which is done annually. The vehicle test process has been adopted on the AutoReg platform in Enugu and Ebonyi State, while some other states are expected to roll out soon.
