ANKARA SERIES 1:ANKARA TURBAN INSPIRED OUTFIT

Hi luvies, so sorry for my absence these past few weeks which was due to an important leave, was away from home serving my father’s land popularly known as the NYSC orientation camp and the network reception was so bad there.
I missed you all and I’m happy and excited to be back, can’t wait to share all the juicy gist with you guys, but on today’s post I’ll be featuring an outfit inspired by an Ankara material which I picked up from my mum’s wardrobe, it just gave me this wonderful idea to work with and bam! it turned out really beautiful.

Over the years, the Ankara fabric has defined Nigerian women fashion and it has been worn in several ways ranging from iro and buba to the nicely cut out peplum tops, skirts ,dresses and so on. It didn’t restrict its versatility to be also worn as a turban. The turban isn’t a Nigerian fashion trend but it has been adopted and remodified by using our very own native Ankara fabric which in turn makes it very gorgeous and African.

I paired a black top and a black ripped jeans (which I ripped myself), with an Erica Elite collections custom made camel trench jacket and paired a teal green sandal heels to compliment the patterns on the Ankara turban.

I also accessorized this outfit with a black moschino leather belt, a statement necklace with teal green and royal blue detailing, a pair of gold loop earrings, and an Aldo snake skin hand bag.
