A total turnover of 1.147 billion shares worth N14.082 billion in 17,980 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange in contrast to a total of 1.101 billion shares valued at N17.082 billion that exchanged hands last week in 15,431 deals.
The Financial Services industry (measured by volume) led the activity chart with 840.704 million shares valued at N10.765 billion traded in 11,331 deals; thus contributing 73.30% and 76.45% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively. The Conglomerates industry followed with 111.231 million shares worth N243.124 million in 963 deals. The third place was ICT Industry with a turnover of 95.087 million shares worth N605.135 million in 404 deals.
Trading in the Top Three Equities namely, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Access Bank Plc and FBN Holdings Plc (measured by volume) accounted for 484.003 million shares worth N8.306 billion in 4,265 deals, contributing 42.20% and 58.99% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.
