AutoReg MVAD

The AutoReg Vehicle License is Courteville’s pioneer e-business solutions project. It is the automation of the Vehicle License registration process and renewal system, which is designed for all vehicle owners within a state to register or renew their vehicle licenses without difficulty and in record time.

Vehicle licenses are to be renewed annually and they give the vehicle owner the right to drive on Nigerian roads within that period. It has been designed to show the details of the vehicle owner and vehicle details.

Since the commencement of AutoReg, over fifty thousand (50,000) cases of number plate duplication have been discovered and sorted out in Lagos State alone. The following are the inherent benefits of the AutoRegTM Vehicle License platform:

  • Creation and maintenance of a credible data base and provision of accurate statistics of number of vehicles within the state.
  • We have more than doubled the revenue of the states in which the business solution has been deployed.
  • Quick and easy access to renewing genuine vehicle license.
  • The business solution model has been able to control crime in case of stolen vehicles.

AutoReg was deployed first in Lagos State in February 2007 and subsequently in the following 16 States: Oyo State (June 2008), Enugu State (August 2008), Rivers State (January 2009), Kebbi State (November 2009), Bauchi State (November 2010), Nasarawa State (April 2012), Akwa Ibom State (September 2012), Kogi State (August 2013), Adamawa State (March 2014), Ekiti State (January 2015), Benue State (April 2015), Yobe State, Osun State (2019), Ogun State (2016), Kwara State (2018) and Edo State (Started June 2019)

This is a remote verification tool that can be used by law enforcement agents to authenticate the genuineness of any type of vehicle documentation and information provided by individuals anywhere in Nigeria. The business solution is deployed via a handheld device.

This verification tool relies on the AutoRegTM database for its source of information. It can currently be used for the verification and authentication of the motor vehicle license, Driver’s license, Hackney Permit, MOT/Road Worthiness and Vehicle Insurance.

In recognition of the uniqueness of our AutoRegTM solution, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) signed up with Courteville for the deployment of the AutoReg Inspector service at the Federal level and it is being utilized by the Corp Field officers in carrying out remote Driver’s license and Vehicle document verification, traffic monitoring and law enforcement.

This service has also been deployed in a large number of AutoReg resident States, while discussions are being held with the Nigerian Police Force and other West African countries for the provision of the full AutoRegTM bureau of services. Courteville Business Solutions Plc seeks to introduce its AutoReg InspectorTM solution, to enhance the law enforcement and crime fighting capabilities of the Nigeria Police Force.

As a response to the increasing need for motor vehicle insurance cover on Nigerian roads, Courteville Business Solutions Plc developed a marketing platform for all insurance houses to sell genuine insurance policies. The AutoInsure policy pays more claim than other third party policies. The following insurance houses partners with Courteville Business Solutions Plc on this product.

Courteville in collaboration with some insurance companies, further adapted the existing AutoReg application to capture the issuance of motor vehicle insurance under the AutoInsure initiative.

This is a document certifying that a vehicle is road-worthy and can be driven on the Nigerian road for a stated period of time.

This document is mandatory for all commercial vehicles and its validity is for a period of 6 months. For private vehicles, however, that are older than 5 years, the road-worthiness certificate is to be obtained once a year. The road-worthiness certification process has been adopted on the AutoReg platform in Akwa Ibom, Adamawa, Plateau, Ondo, Kogi, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Cross River, Oyo and Niger States.

Vehicle Test is an inspection fee which is the tax paid to the government before any vehicle can be tested in any of the State Test Centers to verify if they are still road-worthy.

It is a receipt authorizing the VIO official to test the vehicle and then either certify it road worthy or not as the case may be.

This test is compulsory for all commercial vehicles and the vehicle test must be done bi-annually. For private cars however, it is optional as only those that are older than 5 years need to obtain Road Worthiness certificates and thus have to also go through the vehicle test, which is done annually. The vehicle test process has been adopted on the AutoReg platform in Enugu and Ebonyi State, while some other states are expected to roll out soon.
