Lagos Restricts Movement Along Teslim Balogun Stadium

The Lagos State Government has prohibited vehicular movement around the Teslim Balogun Stadium from 10am to 10pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 for the live football match between the Super Eagles and Lesotho.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Transportation, the Commissioner, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, stated that the restriction was necessary to effectively manage traffic better and tighten security at the stadium.

Motorists were advised to avoid moving around the stadium from 10am, according to the statement titled ‘Nigeria vs Lesotho, movement around Teslim Balogun restricted from 10am to 10pm’.

Traffic approaching Teslim Balogun from Ojuelegba and Alaka/Eric Moore can only pass through the flyover, while motorists heading to the Island in particular are advised to make use of Yaba or the Third Mainland Bridge to access their destinations.

The statement further explained that only vehicles with VVIP (Very, Very Important Person) stickers or tickets would be allowed to approach the stadium and park.

It also added that only vehicles conveying persons with VVIP tickets would be permitted to drive into the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Oladeinde appealed to motorists that use the corridor frequently to cooperate with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officials that will be deployed to manage the traffic flow as it would ease movement and minimise expected inconveniences.
