Ikeja Computer Village Generates N1.5bn Daily –CAPDAN

The President, Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria, Mr. Ojikutu Adeniyi, has said members of group make total daily revenue of N1.5Bn.

He spoke on Monday in a telephone interview with our correspondent after the group had sealed a partnership deal with Silicon Valley of the United States to promote infrastructural development in the Nigeria’s Information Technology.

He described the Computer Village as the largest Information and Communication Technology Hub in West Africa, accommodating over 3,000 ICT Small and Medium Enterprises.

According to him, CAPDAN is a duly registered association of genuine dealers and vendors of computers, telephones and communication gadgets.

Adeniyi noted that the Ikeja Computer Village was contributing meaningfully to the Gross Domestic Products of Nigeria through human capital development and employment and put the daily revenue generation at N1.5Bn.

He also said the strategic partnership with Silicon Valley CA USA would promote information technology infrastructure and growth in Nigeria.

He added that it would provide training programme for members and other human resources solutions for direct local and foreign internship placement.

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development Incorporated, Chief Temitope Ajayi, said the partnership was in continuation of the SV-NED’s efforts to build a bridge between Nigerian emerging market and the US technology giants that could transform Nigeria’s products, market and professionals.

New York University, Morgan State University and University of San

Francisco would during SV-NED’s second immersion programme train Nigerian ICT professionals and stakeholders in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, business intelligence, blockchain, start-ups; computer software, hardware, middleware and genetics engineering, cloud, learning python, corporate executive, and SQL for data analytics.

Ajayi added that there would be training for data scientists, IT professionals, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, leaders inspired to innovate and senior-level technology executives.

She stated that not only that the participants, after comprehensive and intensive training, would be certified by Cisco, Oracle and IBM; but would also be exposed to technological development and dynamics in the US.

She also said many competent and standardised software developers would have their intellectual properties purchased at mouth-watering prices and given consideration by Foreign Investors.

Ajayi said, “The SV-NED Inc’s goal for bringing the 2nd Immersion Programme to Nigeria is to further promote economic stimulation and monetary growth potential for key businesses, the Federal Government Agencies and for aspiring entrepreneurs, who see a future in the ICT.
