The 3rd in the Courteville Vocational Skills Acquisition Training series ended yesterday April 12, 2017 with such fun, fanfare and purposeful enthusiasm from all involved !! It was 3 straight days of training and learning delivered in the most practical mode for all and sundry. The growth from 213 in March 2016 to more than 230 in November 2016 which we thought had been exceptional as we had only prayed to have as many as 50 trainees show up.
This week, the trainees exceeded 430 in actual participation on record for the 3 days. All through the series, we only hoped to attract interest from the immediate company community, but they have all come each time from all over Lagos and as far as Oyo State. There were even several repeat attendees and families to make the events much more interesting and rewarding.
We had as people as young as 8 and as old as 80 year-olds learning life long useful vocational skills for the first times in their lives!!!!! All these ……. delivered by my most amazing young staff whose idea it was originally and who selflessly chose to extend their knowledge to other community stakeholders for free and without any productivity gaps in their office roles throughout these days of passionate engagement with people who chose to continue learning ….. I also learnt , each time the necessity for humility in propagating one’s God-given fortune, in any form or mode, freely and sincerely, to those who may further spread the message.
Hmmmm!!! It continues, I pray for as long as the Almighty God continues to bless my team and I with these kind of wonderful initiatives and resources to help in as many ways we can; and I promise you, that you’d never believe how easy and cheap these wonderful initiatives come!!
We hope the next session in October 2017 even surpasses the past ones altogether in achievement. We are Courteville, the second best Great Place to Work award winner for 2016!!!!
