“IDEA HACKS” APP FOR NIGERIAN ENTREPRENEURS UNVEILED

Abuja – Mr Peter Ayeni, who developed an App tagged: “Mbele,” says there is a new platform, “idea hacks” to help entrepreneurs create innovative solutions to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ayeni unveiled the platform while addressing newsmen on the benefits of the new Mbele feature on Saturday in Abuja. He said that the Mbele’s area of focus would be to explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which has 17 agenda that could be tapped.

The Mbele founder recalled that some reports had feared that Nigeria might not meet the timeline for the SDGs if more efforts were not committed to it. He explained that the benefits of idea hacks would be useful in realising the SDGs via the use of technology. He emphasised the need for Nigerians to leverage on innovative ideas of technology to solving the country’s problems. Ayeni explained that “idea hacks” is an innovative way of addressing issues that would teach entrepreneurs the techniques of solving problem. He said, ‘‘Idea hacks is a platform created by Mbele; it uses the design thinking framework for problem solving and can be applied to businesses.” He expatiated further that ‘idea hacks’ could be utilised to establish businesses, adding that it could also help in making the Government of a country better.

Ayeni said that ‘idea hack’ would enhance collaboration that would allow people to work together to solve particular problem, adding that the target audience are adolescents and youths. He added that school leavers could take advantage of ‘idea hacks’ to come up with innovative solution that would solve a hard problem in their environment and become an entrepreneur. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ayeni had in December, 2017 developed “Mbele App” to help increase access to quality education, using technology and creating a fun learning environment in Nigeria. He said that the new platform is sequel to the need to provide Nigerian entrepreneurs with the avenue of improving their businesses, adding that the era of Nigerian entrepreneurs doing the same thing was over. He argued that most of the courses offered in Nigerian universities were not providing the needed solution to be an entrepreneur. He stressed the need for the country to realise that it had a localised problem and must apply a localised solution.

Ayeni told NAN that he is planning a nationwide training in form of a workshop for young entrepreneurs starting from Abuja in August. According to him, Nigerian entrepreneurs are doing very well, but are not making headway like their counterparts in the western world because the western world has the needed infrastructure that support their growth.
