‘The Journey of a Thousand Miles’

Introduction

Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artefacts (artworks), expressing the author’s imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power. Works of art can tell stories or simply express an aesthetic truth or feeling.

Courteville’s “A Journey of A Thousand Miles” at a first glance, is a captivating piece of art. Spending a little more time to perceive, analyse and interpret the artwork reveals a quantum and reflects the essence of Courteville.

Analysis and Interpretations

Wood

The art is a combination of sculpture and painting. It is made from wood, which usually offers a fascination, beauty and complexity in the grain. The use of wood signifies that Courteville navigates the complexity of issues surrounding people, homes and business, offering state of the art solutions that would add beauty and ease.

AutoReg cards and tiny bits of multi-coloured tins

AutoReg cards and tiny bits of tins were cut into little bits of rectangular and square shapes and nailed into place at different parts on the artwork. The artwork is laced in different colours – black, sky blue, deep blue, orange, yellow. This represents the various spheres of life, culture, industries as well as individuals from all walks of life throughout the world. At Courteville, we understand that jumbling our customers’ needs in a single business model stands against our core values, hence the rationale behind our numerous business models expertly tailored to suit our customers’ specific needs.

Colours and Unknown Letterings

The piece embraces different colours each with its own significance. Black is the darkest colour owing to the absence of complete absorption of light and is spread across the artwork. On this black patches are unknown writings. Courteville seeks to bring ‘light’ and ease to these spheres through the introduction of state of the art e-business solutions. On various other spheres, we see Courteville bringing peace, tranquillity, calm and confidence as represented by the sky blue colour; and joy, happiness, optimism and imagination as represented by the yellow colour.

Company’s Former Logo

The Company’s logo and backdrop against which it is inscribed carries the deepest shades of blue, which signifies integrity, knowledge, power and seriousness. We, at Courteville do not take these issues with levity. We operate with integrity and from a knowledgeable point. Our approach to the needs of our customers is with all seriousness and knowledge. The Company’s logo depicts solidity and the shapes like two hands shows that we provide support to our clients and all other stakeholders.

Roads (unparalleled and Painted in Orange Colour)

The art has three unparalleled horizontal roads running through the work. It also has seven unparalleled vertical roads running through the art work. Each line does not have a beginning or an end. The lines are not straight, it goes up and down and the surface of art is rough and jagged. There is no end to the solutions we offer and our opportunities are endless. Although, the roads that lead to our achievements may be up and down, we understand that in the lifecycle of a product and business, there are always challenges. We strive to surmount each challenge.

The roads are painted in orange colour, which combines the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow. It radiates warmth, happiness and balance.

Drawings of Persons, Vehicles, Houses

The artwork has elements of architecture, particularly because of the drawings on it – persons (male and female), vehicles, houses, letterings, etc. This is particularly of interest because the roads with the drawing of persons – male and female shows these persons on the move, busy and almost depicts chaos. We see some persons summersaulting, while others are dancing. This represents the working class people. Although, they are all busy, yet they are drawn against the background of orange – showing balance, warmth and happiness that Courteville wishes to bring to them.

Some other roads have houses drawn against the orange background. We also seek to bring happiness to homes, making lives ‘easy’ for families through easy to use solutions that would cater for various needs as each segment on the art clearly shows. The roads with all kinds of vehicles specifically brings to mind the Company’s AutoReg for motor vehicle administration documentation. We are not limited to Nigeria. Our solutions are far reaching and beyond boundaries.

African Theme

The artwork has an African theme. We are proudly Nigerian. We seek to touch the lives of people all over the world, yet we do not lose our identity. We understand the dynamism of doing business outside the shores of Nigeria, as displayed in the various patterns on the artwork. We also understand the specific needs of each business, industry, country, and region and seek to provide solutions that would ease the lives of everyone we touch. We offer services in a bid to attain perfection and excellence in life, regardless of gender, religion, age or other factors. Courteville virtually exists to make life easier for people.

Sharp and Uneven Edges

Although, the artwork has sharp and uneven edges, this does not in any way discourage us from taking up challenges and surmounting them. We do not relent because we are yet to reach our desired destination; rather, we continually seek to deliver utmost value to people in these spheres.

This magnificent display of talent, creativity and professionalism is a vivid expression of the core of values of Courteville Business Solutions Plc.

May our coast and reach expand beyond our imaginations!!!
