Courteville: A Great Place to Work

Drum roll……………………………… The number one provider of e-business solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa Courteville Business Solutions Plc and its Group Managing Director, Adebola Akindele were duly recognized on a night of glitz and glamour as the Great Place to Work Institute in Nigeria held its 4th Annual Best Companies to Work for Award Ceremony which was themed “Sustaining Greatness”. The event which had the Honorable Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelama as its guest speaker was held at The Civic Center in Victoria Island on the 29th of April, 2016.

Courteville was pitched against industry big wigs such as EMC Corporation, iSON, Microsoft Nigeria, Guinness Nigeria, Poise Nigeria, Sanofi, Konga, SC Johnson and CAP Plc in the Best Companies to Work for Category emerging as the first runner to American owned multinational corporation, EMC and ahead of Sanofi. Deloitte Nigeria won this category in 2015 ahead of DHL Nigeria and Accenture Nigeria to show how competitive the awards were. This particular category was of great importance to Adebola and especially his Human Resources Department team who had conceived the vision of being amongst the top 3 Companies to work for in West Africa within 5 years (2013 – 2018). Courteville’s 2nd place ranking in the Best Companies to work category is proof that the company is on track in achieving the proposed HR vision.

In the Best Work Place for Millennials category was up against Poise and Konga, with Konga walking away with the award.

Courteville was also awarded the Bright Spot award for Best Practices and its Group Managing Director, Bola Akindele also won a Bright Spot for Excellent Delivery of Leadership. The Bright Spot Categories which were a first of its kind since the introduction of the Great Place to Work Awards 4 years ago makes new entrants (Courteville and Bola Akindele) the pioneer winners. Prior to winning the Bright Spot award for Leadership Style, the anchor made reference to Mr. Akindele as a CEO who is proactive and the only person amongst all the companies surveyed that has mentoring and coaching sessions with his staff and external people alike. These sessions he carries out with so much passion and gusto.

An elated Adebola Akindele who is always quick to acknowledge the efforts of his staff was thankful to both staff and stakeholders for helping himself and the organization achieve this feat. He wrapped up by saying the best is yet to come from Courteville.

Courteville carted away with 3 awards in all, making us the biggest winners on the night.
