2018 at Glance

A look at the year 2018 and there’s no organization nor individual that did not have its lows and highs but at Courteville Business Solutions Plc we never dwell or bask on our lows, NEVER! Like the head honcho of the organization Dr. Adebola Akindele would always say, we are not the best organization neither are we the smartest but the favour of the ALMIGHTY has always been there for us.

The year started out with Dr. Akindele being conferred with the title of Otunba Taiyase of Ogijo Kingdom, Ogijo then next up was the Middle Level Management Program Convocation, the program is organization based. This held in March, it was at this event The Legation Hall was launched and officially opened for business.

In April, we witnessed the opening of the Cradle Court Crèche and Pre-School for children of staff. In the same month, the National Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) stopped by at the office premises to present the Icon of Software Development Award to Dr. Akindele and the company also received a Merit Award on ICT. Shortly after the April edition of the 3-Day Free Skill Acquisition Program held and it was a massive success where over 337 people were trained in various Entrepreneurial vocations. The participants were from the Yaba community, other parts of Lagos and neighbouring states.

Then in May Nigeria’s number one jobsite, Jobberman presented the organization with a plaque confirming Courteville as the Third Best Place to Work in Nigeria. Also in May, the organization won big at Africa’s Corporate Grammy’s which is officially known as the Great Place to Work Awards. The organization was first Certified as a Great Place to Work earlier in the month before wrapping up the month with African awards in the following categories; Best Place to Work for Females, Best Place for Learning and Development and the Best Place to Work (Small and Medium Sized Organizations)

In June, we witnessed the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company, where the management of the organization was able to restore the confidence in shareholders.

In September, the organization was honoured with the LEAD Grand award for IT innovation at the 10th LEAD Awards and in November the Group Managing Director (GMD), Mr. Akindele was handed the Distinguished Alumnus award by the Faculty of Agriculture from his alma mater Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. This was a recognition for his distinguished contributions to the Faculty of Agriculture. The FinTech Association of Nigeria also recognized the company for its contribution to the FinTech ecosystem in November.

The company wrapped up the month of November by being ISO9001:2015 re-certified for the fourth time in 8 years. The current certification will elapse in 2021.

December started with the 2nd Courteville Cup Tournament, a football tournament which was hosted by the organization, then the company bagged 3 awards at the Nigeria Technology Awards (Most Innovative Tech Company, e-Government Consulting Company and Innovative Tech Product of the year) and the GMD was conferred with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

December also had the following activities; Santa Claus coming to town for the kids of the Cradle Court Crèche and Pre-School, kids of staff and their friends and also kids within the community. After Santa’s visit the end of year Carol held, then couple of days later the kids of the Cradle Court Crèche and Pre-School had their end of year party before the organization wrapped up the year with its end of year party which had the theme of dressing old school style, school uniform or as your favourite fantasy. It was a wonderful way to cap the year at Courteville Business Solutions.

We are grateful for the year 2018 and by the grace of the ALMIGHTY, 2019 would be greater for us. Happy New Year to all our customers, shareholders and stakeholders, we say a big thank you for the faith in the management and the trust in the organization.
